City Creche Tots

For those who may not know what City Creche Tots is, it is for children aged between 2 ½ and 4.  When a child is 4 and starts school, then they will move onto the Explorer class.

The crèche tots meet along with the crèche (children aged under 2 and half) in the coffee bar and sing some of the children’s favourite songs.  Then, we go onto the crèche tots room where the children will do different organised activities in relation to the bible story of that Sunday morning such as craft.

The number of children attending this group has recently increased and we have an average of 10 children every Sunday morning.   As a result of this we have to increase the ratio of staff and children as required, thanks to those who are currently on the rota to assist with the City Creche Tots and I am pleased to say that 3 additional new people has volunteered to assist with the group.  This is particular encouraging as our prayer for help needed has been answered by God’s grace.

Over the next few months, we will be sharing with the children that our God is kind as he gives us sunshine, food and helps us to be happy; God hears as we can talk to him and He listens to us when we talk to him; God is great as he is everywhere and has made everything.  Even though they may not fully understand these simple truths, there were occasions, for example, when a boy showed his understanding by telling the teacher that he could sing “Jesus loves me” following the teaching of “God loves me”.

We would appreciate prayers from our church on the following points;

1. with God’s grace and provision, current teachers/assistants and additional helpers will feel comfortable and settled into the role of providing such teaching to the children.
2. with God’s promise, current and new children will be able to settle into the learning environment and have more understanding of the simple truths of the gospel.
